It's been four days since he'd left his parents' house, and Josh still isn't quite used to the concept of being safe. Safe in a way that he'd envied in other people for so long.
Trying not to wake Roger, he slips out of their room and heads into the kitchen.
New York changes, yet never really seems to at the same time.
The Building has long since been renovated, but is unmistakable.
"No, Hendrix, I'm not going to your scene and doing your work for you. How the hell'd you get to be a Level Two anyway?" Sara clicks her phone shut with a satisfied grin, returning her attention to a physics journal.
There's a table in the... theoretical space. Roger is at it, with a book on advanced Economics. He, despite all possibilities to the contrary, looks like he's actually enjoying it. He wouldn't mind being bugged, though.
"Come on, Roger, you look fine. You're not supposed to be the one fretting over this anyway." Laura's amusement factor is quite high and doesn't look like it's coming down at any point
